The ride on August 27, 2006, turned out to be a blast, even though there were only 2 riders who skated down this hill. We were lucky to have friends joining us to watch, helping to take photos and driving us
up the hill in the process! Basically it was the group that plays inline hockey every Sunday morning that showed up to help.
Max speeds recorded were 43.4 km/h (downhill skateboard) and 41.5 km/h (downhill inline). They were personal best records for both Steven and myself. Even though I had the higher max speed reading, Steven
was consistently beating me down the hill, with me having to draft him closely hoping to slingshot past him at the end. In fact, I only beat Steven once and that was during my max speed run (43.4 km/h).
Our last run was the best and most fun, because I managed to get in real close behind Steven and we both finished side-by-side at the finish line. Spectators would definitely say that was a photo finish!
Enough talk, here's the link to the video of the ride, as well as some photos. Big thanks again to Olivia, Craig, Ramesh, and Mike for doing the honors of making the ride at Sea Park a blast! Hope to see the
Underdogs gearing up on their skates and tackling this downhill together! Let's have a 4-man race in the future guys!
